Bob started his Talent Acquisition innovation journey in the early 90’s building a VMS for a leading special events company where his love for talent and people management blended with technology was kindled. Bob’s further innovations included the first global deployment of a VMS and the first global deployment of Services Procurement (SOW) in a VMS. These innovations were driven by a business need to identify and unlock new sources of real, sustainable value.
Bob’s real-world experience includes not only a stint at an MSP to build a 2ndgeneration MSP SoW services organization into an industry leading value delivery program for customers, but also 20 years at Shell building and running one of the largest internally managed global contingent workforce and services procurement program’s with over $2.2B in spend.
Most of Bob’s 20 years at Shell was in Procurement multi-billion dollar category strategies and contract negotiations in contingent labour and consulting, as well as leading global teams. Bob was also accountable for Shell’s VMS strategy, processes and global deployment. Bob was a key element of Shell’s VMS strategy and deployment, since inception 14 years ago.
Bob’s has developed expertise in price and TCO modeling, SoW development, incentive and SLA-based contracts, intellectual property, performance management, and strategic supplier management. Bob also spent time in business development in a new shared services organization at Shell honing his sales and relationship management skills.
Prior to his tenure at Shell, Bob spent 10 years at a premier Houston-based special events company as Director of Finance and Operations. In this role, Bob was responsible for technical infrastructure, application development, procurement, and accounting. Additionally, Bob had a brief stint in technical sales support at a Payroll and HR Services company.
Bob has spoken on talent acquisition, services procurement, technology, and innovation at many industry conferences.
